Hamas is ready to reach a truce in Gaza, a senior official of the Palestinian group said, welcoming the ceasefire in Lebanon.
"The announcement of the ceasefire in Lebanon is a victory and a great success for the resistance," this member of Hamas's political bureau told AFP after the pre-dawn truce took effect in Lebanon, where the Israeli army was battling Hezbollah.
"We have informed the mediators in Egypt, Qatar and Turkey that Hamas is ready for a ceasefire agreement and a serious prisoner exchange agreement," he added, but accused Israel of "obstructing any agreement". | BGNES
