Lazio have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia. The Eagles, who drew 0:0 with Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in the Europa League a week ago, eliminated Serie A leaders Napoli from the competition after a 3:1 victory at Olimpico.
Dutchman Tijani Noslin became the hero for the hosts, scoring a great hat-trick. Lazio could have taken the lead in the 21st minute, but Mattia Zaccagni missed from the penalty spot. 11 minutes later, Noslin broke the deadlock. Shortly after the opening goal of the match, Antonio Conte's team equalized through Giovanni Simeone, but they never found a solution against Noslin, who scored twice more in the 41st and 50th minutes respectively.
Thus, Lazio is already in the last eight of the tournament, where it awaits the Italian champion Inter Milan or Udinese. Three more teams have progressed to the 1/4 finals so far – Empoli, Bologna and Milan.
Napoli will try to get revenge on Lazio this weekend, when the two teams meet again, this time in Serie A. The clash at Diego Armando Maradona is on Sunday, December 8, at 21:45 Bulgarian time. | BGNES
