The US Congress approved a funding bill in a rare show of cross-party unity to keep federal agencies operating through September and avert a disastrous partial government shutdown. The Senate missed a midnight deadline on Friday but voted in the early hours of the morning to pass a resolution that had already been passed by the House of Representatives. President Joe Biden is expected to sign the bill later today. Thus, from Monday, federal departments will be able to continue working as usual. The bill includes approximately $1.2 trillion in funding for federal agencies. Technically, as of midnight on March 23, some federal agencies have shut down due to a funding freeze. /BGNES, AFP
