Bulgarian President Radev: Republic of North Macedonia to respect the signed contracts, including the one on Friendship and Good Neighborhood

"On the occasion of the completed election campaign in the Republic of North Macedonia (RCM) and the inauguration ceremony of the country's new president, I would like to state that the Republic of Bulgaria does not accept statements and behavior that contradict both the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation from 2017, as well as other international agreements that RSM has signed".

This is stated in the position of President Rumen Radev.

"Bulgaria has repeatedly and clearly stated its position that the contracts must be implemented.

I also remind you that the RSM is a NATO member country, from which the corresponding obligations and responsibilities arise.

I am convinced that the European perspective of the RSM depends on the strict implementation of the international treaties to which it is a party, as well as the one approved by the European Council in July 2022. A negotiating framework which, for the information of the responsible institutions in the RSM, will not be revised", the president recalls./BGNES
