Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that current Prime Minister Ana Brnabic will be the new Speaker of the Assembly /National Assembly of Serbia, note ed./.
The decision was made during a meeting of the leadership of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party /SPP/, in which Vucic himself personally participated, RTS reported.
"Burnabich is my biggest surprise. She fought bravely and made a lot of progress," Vucic also said.
SPP nominates Aleksandar Šapić as a candidate for mayor of Belgrade.
Due to the numerous violations during the mayoral elections last December, the vote in the Serbian capital will be repeated. /BGNES
