"We knew the opponent very well, but we got an early goal that upset us and we didn't play the first half properly," coach Georgi Dermendzhiev announced after Ludogorets' elimination from the Conference League tournament. His team lost 0:1 against Servet, and the specialist emphasized the many mistakes the "eagles" made.
"In the second half, we tried to change the game and we did it. We had situations, but we were not able to realize them. Football is a game of goals. Every footballer can make a mistake, but for us this mistake turned out to be fatal. I can't say that I am disappointed but it was a moment when we could have qualified and we have to regret it. We are now heading for the domestic championship and the Cup," he added.
He regretted the fact that the opponent was overcome and Ludogorets really had great chances to advance, but now he will have to direct his focus entirely to the domestic stage.
"Even after the draw, I said that Servet is a very good team. They are in a stronger championship than us, but they are really a surmountable opponent," agreed Dermenzhdiev.
"We had other thoughts about the game, but I know that the players are very strong and will overcome this moment," concluded the coach. /BGNES
