A prominent Nigerian banker has died in a helicopter crash in California

A helicopter with six people on board, including the co-founder of Nigeria's largest bank by assets, has crashed in a desert area in Southern California near the Mojave National Preserve.
There were no survivors, authorities said, NBC reported.
Herbert Weig, co-founder of Access Bank, was among the victims, family members from his home village of Isiokpo said.
Also dead is Abimbola Ogunbanjo, who was the President of the National Board of the Nigerian Stock Exchange from 2017 to 2021 and served as the Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc from 2021 to 2022. /BGNES
