Boston sweep past Golden State by 52 points

The Boston Celtics handed the Golden State Warriors their fourth-heaviest loss in history after crushing their opponent 140-88 at home in an NBA regular season game. For the Celtics, this is the third most impressive victory in franchise history.

The match at TD Garden was tied until midway through the first half, then the hosts took full control and went on a 61-17 run to take a 44-point lead into the break. Warriors coach Steve Kerr pulled stars Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson from the game and they did not return, and soon after the start of the third period, his colleague Joe Mazzula also pulled the starters and let the reserves finish the game.

The Celtics had a great day offensively, shooting 55.2 percent, including 25 3-pointers (51 percent). Ten players scored 6 or more points, with Jaylen Brown leading the way with 29 points and Jayson Tatum adding 27. For Golden State, Lester Quinones scored 17 points, and Moses Moody and Jerome Robinson were the only others in double figures.

The Boston Celtics thus became the first team in history to record three wins by 50 or more points in one season. For the team, this was the 11th consecutive success in the League, after which the balance is 48-12. Golden State sits in ninth place in the Western Conference with a 32-28 record.
