Dortmund take lead ahead of second leg in Paris

Borussia Dortmund secured a slender lead ahead of the second leg of this year's Champions League semi-finals after beating Paris Saint-Germain narrowly 1:0 at home in the first meeting between the two sides.

At Signal Iduna Park, Niklas Fülkrug scored the only goal in the match. The striker of the Yellow and Blacks received a great pass from Nico Schlotterback, masterfully controlled the ball and with a measured shot left no chance to the goalkeeper of the Parisians Gianluigi Donnarumma. Luis Enrique's men in turn hit the crossbar before the break, having had chances in the second half as well that failed to materialize.

After all, Edin Terzic's Borussia will go into the second leg with a narrow one-goal lead en route to a first final in the competition since 2013. The French champions will need to catch up if they are to keep alive their dream of a debut triumph at Europe's most prestigious club tournament after losing the final to Bayern Munich in 2020.

The second leg at Parc des Princes is on Tuesday May 7 at 22:00, with the winner playing either Real Madrid or Bayern in the final on June 1 at Wembley. /BGNES
