Golden State honors Dejan Milojevic with win over Atlanta

The Golden State Warriors prevailed over the Atlanta Hawks 134:112 at home in the regular season of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The Warriors honored recently deceased assistant coach Dejan Milojevic, who passed away at the age of 46 after suffering a heart attack during a team dinner. The Serbian's death led to the postponement of two of the team's games – against the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks. In an emotional pregame ceremony at "Chase Center", the Warriors and Hawks listened to the Serbian national anthem in Milojevic's honor. Two of Golden State's injured players, Chris Paul and Gary Payton II, wore Milojevic's jerseys throughout the game.

On the floor, Warriors controlled their emotions to record a home victory. Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga each finished with 25 points, with Kuminga coming off the bench to go 11/11. Klay Thompson added 24 points, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green scored 12 each, and Dario Saric and Brandin Podziemski scored 10 points each.

For the Hawks, Dejounte Murray finished with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Jalen Johnson added 21, and Saddiq Bey and Milojevic's compatriot Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 18 and 17, respectively. Patty Mills finished with 13 points from the bench, and Clint Capela had a double-double - 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Golden State is 12th in the Western Conference with a 19-22 record, while Atlanta is tenth in the East with 18 wins and 26 losses. In their next games, the Hawks welcome the Dallas Mavericks, while the Warriors will host the Sacramento Kings and Alexander Vezenkov.
