The Israeli army over 200 gunmen during the ongoing operation against Hamas in the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City, Haaretz reported.
According to the IDF, during the past day, Hamas gunmen came out of the Shifa emergency department, where they were hiding, and opened fire on the soldiers.
Amid ongoing fighting, Israel said soldiers had evacuated civilians, patients and medical staff to another part of the hospital "which the IDF prepared and set up so that proper medical treatment could continue."
Dozens more Hamas fighters were killed during the past day's operations in southern Gaza in the al-Qarara neighborhood and in the al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Younis.
Troops operating in southern Gaza also found and destroyed weapons caches, Israeli officials said. /BGNES
