Inter are 11 points off the Italian title after Inzaghi's 100th win

Inter beat Empoli 2-0 at home in a match of the 30th round of the Italian Serie A and achieved their 100th success under Simone Inzaghi.

Federico Dimarco opened in the sixth minute after an assist from Alessandro Bastoni and a volley shot from the edge of the penalty area. Until the end of the half and after the break, the hosts were the more active team, but they could not score a second goal.

Inter ended the dispute in the 81st minute. Denzel Dumfries received the ball on the right wing, advanced to the end line and passed to Alexis Sanchez, who knocked the ball into the empty goal (2:0).

Thus, the Nerazzurri are only 11 points away from winning the title.

Simeno Inzaghi's side have 79 and continue to command a convincing lead in Serie A, with eight rounds to go and a 14-point lead over chasers Milan. Empoli is in the fight for survival, occupying 18th place with 25 points, the same as the first above the danger zone, Frosinone.

At the same time, Lecce and Roma played a very interesting match, but failed to score a goal and ended 0:0.

Thus, the Roman "wolves" moved away from the top 4, being fifth with 52 points, 5 behind Bologna. Lecce is 13th with 29.

Roma are unbeaten in their last six league games, but it looks like the team will have a very difficult task to finish in the Champions League zone. /BGNES
