Kevin Costner and his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner have finalized their divorce

The Yellowstone actor, 69, split from the handbag designer, 49, after 18 years of marriage when he filed for separation on May 1, 2023, and according to newly surfaced court documents, the couple made their split official on 02/16/24.

Documents first obtained by People on 02/20/24 show that Christine's lawyers have filed court papers asking the Santa Barbara, Calif., court to release the former couple from a mandatory co-parenting class.

Kevin and Christine had already agreed to joint custody of their three children - sons Caden, 16, and Hayes, 15, plus their 13-year-old daughter Grace - and settled the other infamous aspects of their split in September, including his ex-wife's demands for huge child support payments to support their lavish lifestyle.

A rep for Kevin said at the time that the estranged couple had "reached an amicable and mutually agreeable resolution to all matters related to their divorce case."

They added: "It is with great sadness that we learn that circumstances beyond his control have led to Mr Costner having to take part in divorce proceedings. We ask that he, Christine, and their children be respected as they go through this difficult time ".

Kevin and Christine have appeared in court several times since their separation to settle issues, including Christine's living arrangements and moving her out of their family compound in Santa Barbara, California.

The two first met on a golf course while he was rehearsing for his romantic comedy Tin Cup in 1996. They began dating after meeting again at a restaurant in 1998 and married in 2004 at Kevin's ranch with 160 acres called The Dunbar in Aspen, Colorado.

Father-of-seven Kevin was previously married for 16 years to Cindy Silva, now 67, with whom he had three children before they divorced in 1994.

After the breakup, he had a brief relationship with Bridget Rooney, with whom he has a 27-year-old son, Liam./BGNES
