Verstappen held off Norris for Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix win

Max Verstappen won the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. The three-time world champion held off the push of Miami winner Lando Norris with McLaren. Charles Leclerc with Ferrari took third place on the podium.

"Throughout the race I had to push to open a reliable gap. With the medium tires we were quite strong. However, it was more difficult with the hard ones, especially in the last 10-15 laps. I was out of control at the end. It's hard when the tyres don't work anymore. I couldn't afford many mistakes. Fortunately, we didn't. I'm super happy to win here today", said Verstappen.

Also in the top 10 were Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Lewis Hamilton and George Russell (Mercedes), who set the fastest lap, Sergio Perez (Red Bull), Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and Yuki Tsunoda (Honda).

Verstappen extended his lead at the top of the standings by 48 points over second-placed Leclerc. Perez is third with 107 points, ahead of Norris with 101.

The next race on the Formula 1 calendar is in Monaco. /BGNES
