Dame Vivienne Westwood's personal wardrobe to be auctioned for charity

The personal wardrobe of groundbreaking British fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood is to be auctioned in aid of the charitable causes she has supported throughout her life.
Punk pioneer Dame Vivienne died at the age of 81 in December 2022 and her brand continues to be run under the creative direction of her husband Andreas Kronthaler, who has selected the clothes to be sold at two auctions. Proceeds from the sales will go to The Vivienne Foundation, Amnesty International and Médecins Sans Frontières, along with THE BIGPICTURE - Vivienne's Playing Cards, The Vivienne Foundation's fundraising project for Greenpeace.
Christie's auction house will organise a live sale in London on 25 June, with a parallel online auction from 14 to 28 June 2024. Around 200 items spanning four decades of fashion will be offered. The public will have the opportunity to view the collection before it is sold at a free public exhibition, featuring Vivienne Westwood: The Personal Collection, at Christie's headquarters in King Street, London, from 14 to 24 June. /BGNES
