Biden and Trump win Louisiana primaries

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump won the Louisiana primary, picking up more delegates after securing their party nominations, VOA reported.
Biden also appeared in the Democratic primary in Missouri, the results of which are not expected to be announced until next week.
None of the races were tight. Biden and Trump beat their primary rivals. But the primary races are still being watched closely for turnout and signs of protest votes.
For Biden, some liberals have registered anger at Israel's war on Hamas since the militant group's Oct. 7 attack. Authorities in Gaza have reported more than 30,000 dead, two-thirds of them women and children, since Israel began its offensive. The protest movement, started by Arab American communities in Michigan, has spread to several other states.
Trump is a dominant figure in his party and has secured his third straight Republican nomination. But he faces dissent from people worried about the huge legal threat he faces or critical of his tenure in the White House, which ended shortly after the Jan. 6 uprising organized by his supporters and fueled by his false theories about electoral fraud.
The primary was Missouri's first Democratic-led presidential race since the new law took effect in August 2022. Louisiana's primary, meanwhile, comes nearly four years after the state was the first to postpone its primary because of the pandemic. Covid-19.
