Djokovic: I want to be in top shape for the Olympics and the summer Slams

"The series of Roland Garros, Wimbledon, the Olympic Games and the US Open is the most important period for me this year. This is the priority and I want to be in top shape there." This was announced by world number 1 Novak Djokovic, who has performed far from his usual level since the beginning of the season.

The Serbian has played just three tournaments in 2024 and is yet to make a single final - he crashed out in the semi-finals of the Australian Open and the Monte Carlo Masters, while losing in the third round at the Indian Wells Masters. Today he begins his participation in the Masters in Rome with a match against the Frenchman Corentin Mute.

"I'm still looking for my best level. I hope this week I find it. I want to go to Roland Garros ready to fight for the title. Maybe I need a little more time because I haven't played enough matches, but that's "It's a conscious decision. I'm 37 now and I want to spend more time with my family. I'm going to choose my schedule more carefully and focus on the biggest tournaments," commented Djokovic, who has a record 24 Grand Slam titles. /BGNES
