The personal clothing and jewelry of Vivienne Westwood will be auctioned off

Few Londoners are as well-known as Vivienne Westwood. The renowned designer, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 81, was a key figure in the punk movement of the 1980s and had a lasting influence on London fashion and style up until her death, reported Time Out. 

You now have the opportunity to own some of her most stunning appearances. Christie's will be auctioning off over 200 of Westwood's personal items. Don't merely dress like a model for Vivienne Westwood; dress like the designer.  

Christie's will hold a two-part auction of Vivienne Westwood's personal collection, but first the collection will be on show for free to the general public from June 14–24. from June 25, "Vivienne Westwood: The Personal Collection" will be offered for sale in person. An online auction will take place from June 14–28. The proceeds from the sales will go to The Vivienne Foundation, Amnesty International, Médecins Sans Frontières, and Greenpeace, the organizations that Dame Vivienne championed throughout her life.

The collection from Viv's personal wardrobe includes some true gems, such as a dress from the 2005 "Propaganda" collection, a 1983 two-piece set from "Witches," one of Westwood's earliest collections, and a taffeta ballgown with the span of a light aircraft from the AW98 "Dressed to Scale" collection. 

"Vivienne Westwood's sense of activism, art, and style is embedded in every piece that she created," stated Adrian Hume Sayer, director of Christie's private and legendary collections. A selection of looks that commemorate important occasions will be featured in the pre-sale exhibition and auctions, which will honor her amazing vision.
