Hugh Jackman greeted his fans with an ice swim for the New Year

As he warned his fans to be prepared for "whatever happens" in 2024, Hugh Jackman filmed a video in which he was seen stripping down to his swimming trunks just before taking to the sea for his first "ice" swim of the new year.

The 55-year-old "The Werewolf" actor, who recently announced his separation from his wife, posted a series of solo photos and messages on his Instagram for Christmas.

His latest post shows him in nothing but black shorts and shoes as he stands on a windswept beach and tells his fans: "Happy New Year everyone!".

"Wishing you all a blessing-filled 2024, no matter what may come - including ice water."

He then turned his back on the camera and dove into the cold sea.

One of his funniest Christmas posts was when he admitted that security told him he got too close to the Christmas tree at New York's Rockefeller Center.

He went to see the huge tree on the morning of December 25 and told his fans in an Instagram post alongside a series of photos from his visit to the landmark: "I highly recommend getting up very early on Christmas morning and walking to see the Christmas tree of Rockefeller Center. It's so beautiful and not crowded at all. I got in trouble because I went outside the barrier, but the security guard was kind and let me in with just a warning."/BGNES
