President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia will not tolerate threats and that its strategic nuclear forces are always ready.
Only one tank, the T-34, passed by at the May 9 parade in Moscow. It was accompanied by several APCs and rocket launchers.
"Russia will do everything to prevent a global clash, but at the same time we will not let anyone threaten us. Our strategic forces are always ready," Putin said.
After the parade, the Russian head of state, Presidents of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Guinea-Bissau Umaru Sisokou Embalo, Kazakhstan Kassam-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan Sadir Zhaparov, Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel, Laos Tonglun Sisulit, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev walked through Red Square to the Alexander Garden. Together they laid a wreath of roses at the Eternal Flame of the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior. Armenia refused to participate. / BGNES
