Milorad Dodik threatened the Balkans with a new "battle for liberation"

The leader of the Bosnian Serbs, Milorad Dodik, announced that Republika Srpska /RS/ should break free from Bosnia and Herzegovina /BiH/.

"Republika Srpska has a new battle ahead of it. To free itself from BiH," Dodik said on the occasion of May 9, Victory Day, in Banja Luka.

The Serbian entity of the federation marked today with an "Immortal Regiment" procession. Participants in the procession laid wreaths in front of the Monument to the Victims of Fascism on the Square of the Fallen Fighters in the city.

Dodik said that "freedom is what unites the Serbian people as a whole".

"Victory over fascism is permanent and cannot be replaced by another term," the Bosnian Serb leader said, adding that "the most victims are among the Serbian and Russian people."

“Our resistance to any kind of oppression here is strong. The German regime killed over 30 million people. All who were under the attack of German ideology died. The Germany of the time wanted to be subjugated, it wanted to rule," Dodik was quoted as saying by Radio-Television of Serbia.

The Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH Zelka Tsvjanovic and the Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandic also took part in the march.

Ministers in the Government of the Republika Srpska, the Ambassador of Russia to BiH Igor Kalabukhov, MPs in the National Assembly of the RS, the Mayor of Banja Luka Drasko Stanivuković and the Consul General of Serbia in Banja Luka Miloš Vuić also attended the event. /BGNES
