Kosovo PM Albin Kurti: We are grateful to Bulgaria for its support in crucial moments

"We are grateful for Bulgaria's support at crucial times for our country and our people, including in 1999, when you opened your skies to the NATO bombing campaign that stopped the genocide by Serbia and the malicious and dangerous intentions of Russia, not only against Kosovo".
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, after his meeting with President Rumen Radev.
"I thank Bulgaria for its continuous support for our membership in international organizations, integration in the EU, the Council of Europe and regional cooperation, including the Berlin process. It's a great pleasure to have you here," Kurti told Radev.
The two agreed to deepen relations between Kosovo and Bulgaria, including in the economy, energy, security and tourism, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's office, quoted by the "Albanian Post".
For his part, Radev emphasized that his visit to Kosovo has "clear goals".
"We came here with a clear mission: to deepen our friendship and relations in all possible areas of common interest and to encourage and support you in your efforts to develop Kosovo as a modern state, democratic, independent and fully integrated into the system of the international community," he added Radev.
Kurti noted that "the two countries and the two peoples have a common history in the Balkans and a common future in the European Union, where our country has applied and strives to be a member."
Meanwhile, he stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation, especially in the field of economy, where "more can and should be done".
"The field of information and communication technologies was also affected, where we have great potential, talented and resourceful young people and we are also exporters of important services," the Kosovo government said in a statement.
Radev pointed out that Bulgaria is a friendly country of Kosovo and that he is interested in expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation.
The opening of the Kosovo-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce in June, as well as the planning to hold a joint economic forum next year, were assessed as a good opportunity to strengthen economic relations.
Earlier, in a meeting with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, the Bulgarian President stated that reaching an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is of key importance for the security of the region.
Radev said that in the Western Balkans membership process, Kosovo should not be left out.
The president also met with the mayor of Pristina municipality, Preparim Rama. At a solemn ceremony, Radev received the "Key to the City"./BGNES
