Prof. Emmanuel Mutafov: In order to have leaders of the scope of those from the National Revival, a mentally healthy society is needed

In order to achieve social happiness, according to Erich Fromm, it is necessary to know the laws characterizing human nature, as well as the inherent goals of its development and unfolding, because by transforming the world around him, the person transforms himself in the course of history.

And here comes the question of what kind of personalities the Bulgarian society currently has, do they have the qualities of real leaders, do they have the charisma to attract many with their words and "style", and most importantly, what ideals do they offer them. The other important circumstance is the story (event) that is unfolding at the moment, how dynamic it is and whether it offers a platform for an authentic performance. Certainly, history as an abstract concept, by which I understand events in the world at the moment, is a favorable scene - a choice is offered between civilizations, between warring states, a rearrangement of the world order is foreseen, there is a hunger for spiritual leaders to give a new direction to development of a universe that is both globalized by technology and fragmented by its fears and ambitions. It is through this: by developing one's own potential and by transforming it in accordance with one's own capabilities, that one intervenes in the course of history.

And here we have comedic public appearances that fail to go beyond the confines of our closed group and above all, they don't bother to hide their obvious self-interest. Therefore, it should not be forgotten that the main passions and aspirations of the person arise from his entire existence, and they lead either to health and happiness (personal and social), or to diseases and unhappiness. A person acquires mental health only if he reaches full maturity through his development according to the characteristics and laws of human nature, and mental illnesses, resp. the unhealthy social climate, consist in the failure to achieve this very development. There are many people who succeed in our country, but those who succeed are few and always slandered, questioned, segregated.

Our society is sick, it has lost its faith and to some extent its identity. It cannot break away from the current, overcome envy, unite around national ideals that existed in the 19th and early 20th centuries, because it is easier to idealize the past than to build a healthy future. And last but not least, because the Bulgarian society no longer cares about people "of good stock". And to be "of good stock" means to be responsible not only for your name, but for that of your father, your grandfather and your great-grandfather; to step in your census and on their diplomas; to have "a style and style"; fighting for others and being patriotic.

That's why there are no Leaders of the National Revival in today's Bulgaria. There are sick people who celebrate National Revival Leaders' Day. /BGNES
